Expert, E-Health Integration

Job Summary

The job holder shall be responsible to provide expert support for the development, implementation and maintenance of the eHealth Program and Ministry's-wide Integration strategy ensuring comprehensive Integration management systems and processes are implemented in accordance to government and international standards. Understanding and taking steps to mitigate the risks associated with collecting, storing and transmitting data in a business setting.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Develop, implement and maintain the technical infrastructure which will facilitate and fully support the seamless integration of disparate eHealth systems, providing clinical and business staff with an exceptional user experience.

2. Effectively contribute and manage Enterprise Integration therefore maintaining integration systems and standards throughout the eHealth program, and monitoring interface compliance across the enterprise.

3. Support defining, managing and maintaining interfacing standards in compliance with industry best practice and international standards.

4. Coordinate interactions between enterprise integration management and other processes, especially service level management, availability management, IT service continuity management and organizational integration management.

5. Produce integration architecture deliverables, working in conjunction with either a solution or business architect (e.g., application, business, information, infrastructure, security) to support clinical or business projects, translating user requirements to solutions.

6. Research, design and communicate integration solutions as part of projects and/or programs, applying software design theories, principles and practices and fully documenting the agreed solution.

7. Liaise closely with 3rd party vendors and team members to establish operating parameters, negotiate where necessary to ensure effective resource allocation and support, reviewing and approving work performed by team members and 3rd party vendors.

8. Assist in the development of requirements specific to integration and provide input to roadmaps for integration architecture or for individual areas of technology focus.

9. Lead the development of testing packages by identifying testing requirements and coordinating the delivery of testing within a consolidated project of technically complex systems, to ensure compliance to quality standards and operational effectiveness.

10. Provide expert advice and high-level specialist training to colleagues and system users, including the development of training packages through collaborative working with key areas of the service.

11. Support the development and maintenance of integration policies along with specific supporting policies, ensuring successful implementation, appropriate authorization, commitment and endorsement from Ministry's senior management and business management.

12. Communicate and publicize the integration policy to all appropriate parties in order to ensure that the integration policy is enforced and adhered to.

13. Develop and manage the process for conducting business impact analysis of incidents to ensure threats are addressed and controls are implemented.

14. Perform integration risk assessment and risk management in conjunction with availability and IT service continuity management.

15. Develop and maintain plans and procedures for operating and maintaining integration controls.

16. Monitor and manage all integration related incidents, in order to take remedial action to prevent recurrence wherever possible.

17. Report, analyse and reduce the impact and volumes of all integration incidents in conjunction with problem management.

18. Provide regular detailed and summary reports to appropriate governance bodies at a local level, through analysis of complex data and issues and progress reporting.

19. Promote education and awareness of integration across the enterprise.

21. Maintain a set of integration controls and documentations, and regularly review and audit all controls and procedures.

22. Ensure that the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the services are maintained at the levels agreed in SLAs.

23. Represent the eHealth Department on local and national technical groups.

24. Research and stay current with relevant business and technology trends and mentor others on integration architecture standards and best practices.

25. Perform other duties as requested to meet the ongoing organizational needs.


Essential Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science/Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

Essential Experience

Min 10 years' experience related to integration.
