Title: Expert Systems Architect (Data Analytics)
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 30 Months
Work Model: Hybrid (Up to 50% remote; maximum 5 remote days every 2 weeks)
The consultant will support a major initiative to expand and modernize the Enterprise Data Warehouse by consolidating legacy data marts, reducing redundancy, and establishing a single source of truth to improve BI efficiency and lower maintenance overhead. Responsibilities also include operationalizing predictive models, supporting data lake development, and integrating financial and accounting-related data flows. Additional work will involve evaluating and implementing solutions for AI, knowledge graphs, data governance, and data management.
Recommend, guide, and implement new data marts while improving/consolidating existing ones.
Participate in DW/BI projects across the full project lifecycle.
Develop and document best practices and standards for data warehouse and data mart design.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for DW/DM structures, ETL processes, and related components.
Plan, design, modify, maintain, test, and implement code for:
Source-system extractions
ETL pipelines
BI dashboards and reports (Python, R)
Develop and maintain Spotfire-based analytics systems, including predictive models using R/TERR and automation services.
Automate data extractions and data warehouse loading processes.
Operationalize predictive models for production use.
Follow established SDLC, enterprise architecture, project management, and IT governance standards.
Provide support for BI Data Warehouse tools including Spotfire and Data Migrator.
7+ years of experience providing senior-level or enterprise-level technical leadership, architecture, and guidance.
Recognized expert in the data analytics or data systems architecture domain.
7 years of data modeling experience designing underwriting and claims data marts in the insurance industry (workers’ compensation, disability).
7 years of experience developing and maintaining predictive systems in R or Python using TIBCO Spotfire/TERR.
7 years of experience with TIBCO Spotfire Analyst, Web Player, Business Author, IronPython, R, and JavaScript.
7 years of experience developing and maintaining end-to-end ETL pipelines using IBI Data Migrator / TIBCO Data Migrator.
7 years of Oracle PL/SQL development experience (stored procedures, triggers, packages, query tuning, database design).
7 years of experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
7 years of experience with automated testing, build, and deployment tools (TFS, PowerShell, Visual Build Pro).
7 years of experience using development tools such as VS Code, Visual Studio, Git, Azure, TFS.
7 years of experience developing systems for workers’ compensation, disability (DBL), PFL, and financial reporting using both western and eastern accounting methods.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
