Export Sales Manager (FMCG) – Job Requirements Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Marketing, or related field.
- MBA or PG Diploma in International Business/Marketing is an advantage.
- Certification in Export Management or Supply Chain (optional but preferred).
Experience:
- 4–8 years of experience in export sales, with at least 2–3 years in the FMCG sector.
- Hands-on experience in managing retail, wholesale, or distributor networks overseas.
- Demonstrated success in launching FMCG products in international markets (Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, etc.).
Industry-Specific Skills:
- Deep understanding of FMCG supply chains, shelf-life management, and product rotation.
- Familiarity with packaging compliance and labelling regulations for different countries.
- Experience handling perishable and non-perishable items across categories like food, beverages, personal care, etc.
Sales & Marketing Skills:
- Strong B2B sales skills with ability to onboard and manage international distributors/retailers.
- Understanding of market research, pricing strategy, and trade marketing for FMCG goods.
- Experience in participating in international trade fairs/exhibitions.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Sound knowledge of export documentation, customs clearance, Incoterms, and regulatory requirements for FMCG products.
- Ability to manage LCs (Letters of Credit), advance payments, and export incentives.
Technology & Tools:
- Proficiency in CRM software, Excel, and ERP systems (like SAP or Oracle).
- Familiarity with export portals, shipping platforms, and international logistics tools.
Languages:
- English (fluent). Additional languages like Arabic, French, or Spanish are an added advantage.
Personal Traits:
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple markets, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills for managing international accounts.
