An Import/Export Manager oversees the international movement of goods, ensuring compliance with trade laws, managing logistics (shipping, customs, documentation), negotiating with partners, and optimizing costs and processes for efficiency and profitability in global trade. Key responsibilities include coordinating shipments, handling customs clearance, managing documentation (invoices, bills of lading), resolving transit issues, and staying updated on regulations and market trends to support a company's global expansion.

Import Export Team Vision: - To drive seamless and efficient international trade operations, foster strong client relationships,and nurture continuous growth and development of the team with excellence and long-term success, in alignment of the

company’s vision and core values.

  • Logistics & Shipping Coordination with Operation Team: -
  • Plan and coordinate shipments (air/sea/land) with freight forwarders and shipping lines.
  • Optimize PO planning, booking, and dispatch scheduling.
  • Track loaded cargo movement and manage delays, demurrage, or detention charges for all shipments.

Documentation & Compliance: -

  • Ensure accurate preparation of shipping, customs, and regulatory documents.
  • Stay updated on international trade regulations.
  • Coordinate with CHA and port officials for clearance at destination ports.
  • Supplier & Buyer Management: -
  • Liaise with associated teams for management of overseas buyers and suppliers for timely PO execution and shipment planning.
  • Handle claims related to damage or material discrepancies and get it resolved in timely manner.

Finance & Cost Control: -

  • Coordinate with the accounts team for advance payments, LC documentation, and bank coordination.
  • Ensure timely vendor payments and follow up for inward remittance from buyers.
  • Ensure timely payments and follow up for outward remittance.
  • Ensure timely closure of open shipments and submission of all payment-related documents to concern stakeholders.
  • Maintain cost sheets for each shipment to analyze profitability.
  • Maintain overall expenses documentation with accounts team.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in shipping or documentation.

Team & Reporting: -

  • Lead a team handling operations, documentation, and logistics support.
  • Assign responsibilities, ensure timely task completion, and maintain process discipline.
  • Provide timely MIS reports to management (shipment summary, pending orders, payment status and others).

Staff Training & Development: -

  • Identify bottlenecks and process gaps to improve efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve team issues in a best way possible by keeping organizational centric approach.
  • Train staff to get the maximum output as per SOP of work and continuously improve it.
  • Implement new strategy or changes in SOP as per guidance of management and ensure compliance of it.
  • Identify talents, provide them resources and training and get them ready for future roles and responsibility as per hierarchy.
  • Quarterly and annually report finalization with business development & accounts team as per company norms.
  • To do miscellaneous task and report preparation related to office asked by management.

Market Research & Strategy (if required):-

  • Attend trade fairs, exhibitions and maintain industry networks.
  • Inventory & Warehousing (if required):-
  • Coordinate with warehouse for stock levels, inward/outward records, and space planning.
  • Reconcile inventory linked to international shipments.

Required hands on experience of Min 4 years with team handling of 30 to 35 people.
