Role Summary

The Export Pricing Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing competitive and profitable pricing strategies for all international exports. This role is crucial for maximizing sales margin while ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and optimizing logistics costs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical background and proven negotiation skills, particularly with carriers and freight forwarders.

Key Responsibilities1. Pricing Strategy and Management

  • Develop and execute comprehensive export pricing strategies aligned with the company's financial and business objectives.
  • Prepare and submit accurate, timely, and competitive freight quotations for various modes of transport (Ocean, Air, Surface) including FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load).
  • Negotiate and finalize favorable freight rates, contracts, and service agreements with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and international agents.
  • Cost Optimization: Conduct in-depth cost analysis, including shipping costs, tariffs, duties, and other logistics expenses, to identify areas for cost reduction and margin improvement.

2. Market Analysis and Compliance

  • Market Research: Monitor global trade trends, competitor pricing strategies, and General Rate Increases (GRI) to ensure the company's rates remain competitive and profitable.
  • Analyze the impact of foreign exchange fluctuations, trade tariffs, and geopolitical factors on export pricing.
  • Ensure all pricing models and export operations comply with relevant international trade regulations, customs procedures, and INCOTERMS.

3. Documentation and Operations Support

  • Collaborate closely with the Sales, Logistics, and Operations teams to ensure pricing strategies are executable and meet customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Assist in managing the tender and Request for Quotation (RFQ/RFP) processes for major clients.
  • Maintain and update detailed pricing databases, rate tariffs, and contract records in internal systems (e.g., ERP, CargoWise, or equivalent logistics software).

4. Reporting and Performance

  • Generate periodic reports on pricing performance, sales margins, quotation conversion rates, and market trends.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for pricing accuracy and profitability, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills for data management, analysis, and financial modeling.

✅ Required Qualifications and SkillsEducation

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in Export Pricing, Freight Forwarding, or Ocean/Air Cargo Operations.
  • Proven track record of negotiating and managing freight contracts with carriers.

Technical Skills (Hard Skills)

  • Deep knowledge of INCOTERMS (2020 version).
  • Strong understanding of international trade documentation (e.g., B/L, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables) and experience with an ERP or logistics management system.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and compliance procedures.
