Fabric Inspector

About Us:

Our reputation is built on quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. We are seeking a skilled Fabric Inspector to join our team and ensure that only the finest materials are used in production.

Position Overview:
The Fabric Inspector is responsible for reviewing and evaluating incoming fabrics using inspection machines and visual examination to identify flaws, defects, or irregularities. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, fabric inspection experience, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming fabric rolls using a fabric inspection machine and manual/visual review.
  • Identify and document fabric defects such as stains, weaving flaws, color inconsistencies, and damages.
  • Measure fabric yardage and verify accuracy against order requirements.
  • Tag and record rejected or defective materials for return or review.
  • Ensure that only quality-approved fabrics are released into production for drapery, shades, and other window treatments.
  • Lift and handle fabric rolls weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with precision and consistency.
  • Maintain accurate inspection logs and records in accordance with company standards.
  • Organize, label, and store approved fabric rolls in designated areas.
  • Communicate inspection results to purchasing, production, and quality control teams.
  • Assist with general warehouse and material handling duties when needed.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience operating a fabric inspection machine and/or hands-on experience with fabrics required.
  • Strong visual acuity and attention to detail for spotting defects.
  • Ability to lift and move fabric rolls up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with accuracy.
  • Basic computer/data entry skills for record-keeping.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Dependable and punctual with a positive work ethic.
