Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Lead to manage and oversee onshore construction and fabrication activities for oil & gas projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in steel fabrication (particularly subsea structures), welding, and testing, along with proven leadership experience acting as the Contractor’s focal point to the Client. This role will ensure project execution aligns with engineering requirements, schedules, and QHSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise onshore fabrication and construction activities.
• Act as the main point of contact between the Contractor and Client throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on shop drawings and resolve technical/fabrication-related issues.
• Conduct constructability reviews and readiness assessments with construction engineering.
• Lead the resolution of day-to-day fabrication and construction challenges to maintain progress and schedule.
• Ensure strict compliance with COMPANY’s QHSE standards and procedures.
• Guide engineers and superintendents in developing fabrication, construction, welding manuals, and procedures.
• Participate in inspections, audits, and testing activities such as FAT and SIT.
• Oversee load tests, function tests, and ensure proper documentation and quality control of all fabrication activities.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of experience in oil & gas fabrication (onshore/offshore).
• Minimum 5 years in a lead or managerial role, acting as the Contractor’s interface to the Client.
• Strong technical expertise in steel fabrication, subsea sleeper fabrication, welding, and NDT.
• Experience with testing procedures including FAT, SIT, load testing, and function testing.
• Proven knowledge of material inspection, traceability, and fabrication audits.
  
  

Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with international standards: AWS, API, ASME, IMCA, IOGP.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); MS Project is a plus.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and CAD files.
• Knowledge of QHSE practices and fabrication yard safety protocols.
  
  

Certifications (Preferred But Not Mandatory)

• PMP, PRINCE2, or other recognized Project Management Certification.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure project environment and interface with multinational teams.
• Willingness to work on-site or in fabrication yards as per project needs.
