Fabricator

Job Summary:

The Steel Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding steel components based on technical drawings and specifications. The role involves working with various fabrication tools and machinery to produce high-quality metal structures for construction, industrial, or manufacturing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

· Follow the engineering drawings and instructions from your Workshop Manager.

· Cut, bend, and shape steel materials using tools such as shears, saws, torches, and grinders.

· Assemble components using welding techniques (MIG, TIG, or arc welding) and mechanical fasteners.

· Ensure accuracy and quality by measuring and inspecting completed components.

· Operate machinery including press brakes, drill presses, and rollers.

· Perform routine maintenance on tools and fabrication equipment.

· Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in metal fabrication is a plus.

· Minimum 2 years of experience as a steel fabricator or in a similar role.

· Strong knowledge of metalworking tools and fabrication processes.

· Ability to read and understand technical drawings and welding symbols.

· Good physical stamina and ability to work in various positions (standing, lifting, etc.).

· Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
