This position demands a highly motivated, detail oriented, self-starter who is comfortable and capable of mastering the various tools and equipment necessary to build all types of precision crafted signage. The Fabrication Technician is responsible for the complete and accurate fabrication (cutting, welding, and assembly) of sheet, extruded or structural aluminum, steel, wood, acrylic and composite materials into signage products. Fabrication Technician must excel at reading and converting twodimensional drawings into accurate three-dimensional creations either autonomously or as a contributor on a team build. The Technician will complete the secondary wiring and integration of LED’s, power supplies and related electronic components for illuminated or mechanized signage. Technician must report to the Production Supervisor to organize the exact fabrication details, welding requirements and assembly procedures to fulfill the daily planning, scheduling, work delegation, quality control, safety and process management. It is Technician’s responsibility to learn & utilize existing processes for fabrication, wiring or assembly and to discuss alternative procedures or process improvements methods with their supervisor prior to execution.

Position Tasks: Various tasks performed by the Fabrication Technician include & are not limited to the:

  • Cutting, welding, wiring, sanding, mitering, joining, crafting and magic making of raw materials into fabricated works of art.
  • Mastering your material knowledge and the various types of welding or fabrication methods and/or utilizing multiple techniques to build amazing signage structures, cabinets, letters, logos and custom fixtures.
  • Installing electrical LED lighting components and wiring for illuminated signs.
  • Analyze plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding, cutting and assembly assignments.
  • Must know how to layout material and make cut lists to make maximize the use of raw materials.
  • Must know how to safely use all the power equipment in the fabrication and cutting area. Must also know how to maintain or service all of the power tools in their area.
  • Measure, measure, measure, measure, CUT, measure, measure…you get it
  • Follow all safety OSHA and Hazard procedures.
  • Provide your deliverables, On time, On quality & On budget.

Following all safety training procedures including OSHA and Hazard procedures is a must. Must have a positive attitude and be willing to take directions and learn new things.

Full-time, direct hire opportunity
Hours are Monday through Friday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:
