Food Allowance: QAR 360 per month

• Working Days: 6 days per week
• Working Hours: 9 hours per day (including lunch break)
• Overtime: Paid as per Qatar Labour Law

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Facilities Electrician / Diesel Generator Technician to join our operations at the US Army Base in Qatar. This role requires dual expertise in electrical systems and switchgear maintenance as well as diesel generator servicing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical competence, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to ensure reliable power systems performance under demanding conditions.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Systems & Switchgear

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical switchgear and related equipment.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and use proper PPE (flame-resistant clothing, insulated gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, etc.) at all times.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards such as energized components, work environment conditions, and task-specific risks.
• Maintain safe working distances from energized systems as per electrical safety regulations.
• Ensure proper grounding procedures and conduct electrical ground testing.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain clear communication to prevent accidental re-energization.

Diesel Generator Maintenance

• Perform load bank tests on diesel generators to confirm operational efficiency.
• Carry out voltage changes, rewiring, and installation of control panels and voltage regulators.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspecting for leaks, worn parts, and other abnormalities.
• Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, and electrical controls.
• Calibrate, test, and inspect generator equipment to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Technical Certification in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical systems and diesel generator maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of LOTO procedures, PPE requirements, and electrical safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, electrical schematics, and service manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
