Facilities Manager

Muscat, Oman

Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee and manage maintenance activities across Al Meera retail stores, shopping malls, warehouses, and staff accommodations in Oman.
  • Ensure facilities comply with local municipal, civil defense, environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and optimize asset performance, identifying and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with store management to ensure maintenance activities do not disrupt retail operations.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for critical equipment including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor daily tasks for in-house maintenance staff and service contractors.
  • Ensure timely completion and closure of all maintenance work orders (corrective and preventive).
  • Maintain maintenance logs, population registers, and call-management reports.
  • Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets and ensure cost control within approved limits.
  • Prepare tender documents and scopes of work for facility-related services and maintenance projects.
  • Evaluate technical and commercial proposals and recommend service providers.
  • Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) ensuring service delivery as per KPIs and SLAs.
  • Conduct regular performance review meetings with vendors and contractors.
  • Coordinate with project teams for handover and takeover of newly constructed or renovated stores.
  • Follow up with contractors for snag rectification during the Defects Liability Period (DLP).
  • Collaborate with civil defense, safety, and security teams to meet building approval and inspection requirements.
  • Oversee procurement and ensure timely availability of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Maintain updated asset registers and inventory records.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the facilities and maintenance team to enhance technical capability and efficiency.
  • Organize and conduct safety and compliance training covering OHS regulations, emergency response, PPE usage, hazardous materials handling, and weekly toolbox talks.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Mechanical, Electrical or Civil.
  • Certification in PMP or CFM.


Experience Required:
  • Minimum 10 year of Experience as Facilities Engineer preferably managing a building facility of Malls, shopping complexes, Accommodations etc.
  • A proven, successful track record of consistent achievement in Maintenance services or Facilities Management Company.
  • Must be aware of local contractors, suppliers and locations in Oman. Therefore, Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oman.
  • Oman Driving Licence is mandatory
