TxDOT's Austin Headquarters is seeking a Facility Coordinator II or III to work in Austin, TX. This role is essential to ensuring our facilities are safe, efficient, and well-organized, supporting the needs of our district. This position is for ONE Facility Coordinator II or III. The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of position based on the applicant's work experience, education, skill level, and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs.
Salary Plan/Grade:
Facility Coordinator II: B20 ($51,158.00 - $81,351.00/yearly)
Facility Coordinator III: B22 ($57,614.00 - $93,138.00/yearly)

This position coordinates, inspects and monitors building maintenance, operations and service activities including grounds maintenance, housekeeping and security in a district or at an Austin area campus. Work requires contact with contractors and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Essential Duties for a Facility Coordinator II or III include:
Assists in negotiation, development, and implementation of service contracts.
Coordinates, inspects, and monitors building repairs, operations and service activities (including housekeeping, security and/or groundskeeping) at one or more sites.
Coordinates, inspects, and/or monitors maintenance of interiors, roofing, flooring and/or associated heating, ventilating, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing systems of buildings including picnic and safety rest area structures.
Coordinates, schedules, inspects, and/or monitors work of employees, contractors and/or contracted employees.
Monitors buildings and systems; performs or coordinates repairs.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
Additional Duties for a Facility Coordinator III:
Negotiates, develops and implements service contracts for facilities.
Oversees the implementation of the preventive maintenance program for districts and divisions
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
Experience:
Facility Coordinator II: 8 YEARS in building inspection, maintenance, utility systems.
Facility Coordinator III: 9 YEARS in building inspection, maintenance, utility systems.
(Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
Competencies for a Facility Coordinator II or III include:
Methods and procedures used in building maintenance and repair
Utility systems including heating, air conditioning, electrical wiring and plumbing
Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems
Safely using, operating, and maintaining applicable equipment
Using applicable hand and power tools, equipment, and mechanical devices of the trade
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Subject to outside environmental conditions; no effective weather protection
Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions
Medium work: Lift up to 50 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 25 lbs
