Job Overview
The Facility Manager will be responsible for overseeing the smooth functioning, upkeep, and safety of the school’s infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems and equipment maintenance. The role involves ensuring uninterrupted power supply, maintaining electrical installations, coordinating repairs, and providing a safe learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems & Equipment Maintenance
- Oversee installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems, wiring, lighting, fans, and power backup systems (DG sets, UPS, inverters).
- Ensure regular servicing and upkeep of electrical appliances (ACs, water coolers, pumps, projectors, lab equipment).
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, power failures, or urgent repair requirements.
- Maintain logs of electrical usage, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Facility Operations & Safety
- Conduct routine inspections of classrooms, labs, offices, playgrounds, and common areas to ensure all facilities are operational and safe.
- Ensure fire safety systems, alarms, and emergency lighting are functional at all times.
- Identify potential hazards and take corrective measures to minimize risks.
Vendor & Budget Management
- Coordinate with external vendors/contractors for specialized repair and maintenance projects.
- Source cost-effective solutions for electrical supplies, spare parts, and repairs.
- Assist in budgeting for facility maintenance and monitor cost efficiency.
Team Supervision
- Lead and supervise the maintenance and custodial staff, assigning tasks and ensuring timely execution.
- Train staff in basic electrical and safety practices.
- Ensure adequate manpower availability during events, functions, and emergencies.
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in facility/electrical maintenance, preferably in a school, institution, or similar setup.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment.
- Hands-on experience with generators, UPS, and HVAC systems preferred.
- Ability to manage a team, coordinate multiple tasks, and handle emergencies.
- Diploma/ITI/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
