The Facility Manager ensures that the entire CARE campus—academic blocks, hostels, labs, studios, workshops, common areas, and outdoor spaces—is clean, functional, inspection-ready, aesthetically maintained, and efficiently operated.
Key Responsibilities
1. Housekeeping & Hygiene Management
- Lead campus-wide housekeeping operations across academic buildings, hostels, offices, exam halls, labs, studios, library, and washrooms.
- Maintain daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedules and checklists.
- Conduct routine hygiene audits and ensure compliance with CARE cleaning standards.
- Monitor deep cleaning cycles (washrooms, hostels, labs, kitchens).
- Ensure continuous availability of consumables (tissue rolls, phenyl, mops, soaps, bins, etc.).
2. Waste & Sanitation Management
- Oversee solid waste segregation at source (classrooms, hostels, canteen, workshops).
- Coordinate with municipal authorities/contractors for timely waste and scrap disposal.
- Implement e-waste, biomedical waste (if applicable), and sanitary waste protocols.
- Maintain sanitation and waste records required for NAAC, NBA, AICTE, DoTE.
3. Grounds, Gardening & Campus Ambience
- Manage gardening and landscape maintenance teams/vendors.
- Ensure lawns, plants, pathways, signage, and outdoor lighting are neat and functional.
- Maintain a visually appealing and student-friendly campus experience.
- Oversee seasonal planting, pruning, and green campus initiatives.
4. Daily Facility Operations & Logistics
- Ensure classroom, lab, studio, seminar hall, and auditorium readiness.
- Coordinate event setups (furniture, stage, seating, banners, hospitality).
- Manage movement and upkeep of furniture, fixtures, and non-technical assets.
- Oversee hostel block presentation and cleanliness readiness before student check-ins, audits, and inspections.
- Maintain key/lock management and lost & found system.
5. Vendor & Contract Management (Non-Technical)
- Oversee and monitor all soft-service vendors:
- Housekeeping
- Gardening
- Pest control
- Waste management
- Laundry/linen (if applicable)
- Verify attendance, performance, billing, and SLA compliance.
- Escalate non-performance issues and initiate corrective actions.
6. Compliance, Audits & Inspection Readiness
- Ensure all hygiene, housekeeping, waste, and sanitation documentation logs are up to date.
- Prepare campus for AICTE, NAAC, NBA, AU, DoTE, ISO and Fire audits.
- Ensure canteen/mess areas and hostel kitchens meet hygiene and FSSAI norms.
- Maintain water quality testing logs (RO/Drinking water bacterial test reports).
7. Coordination with Estate & Security Teams
- Work closely with the Estate Manager to escalate civil/electrical issues identified during inspections.
- Coordinate with the Security Manager for movement control during events, housekeeping staff entry/exit, trucks/vendors, etc.
- Provide necessary facility support during emergency situations.
8. Budgeting & Consumable Inventory
- Prepare and monitor housekeeping/soft-services budget.
- Track purchases, stock levels, and consumption patterns of cleaning materials.
- Reduce wastage through efficient stock planning and vendor negotiations.
9. Staff Leadership & Performance Monitoring
- Lead housekeeping supervisors, gardeners, helpers, and service staff.
- Plan duty rosters for academic days, exams, events, and holidays.
- Train staff on hygiene standards, safety protocols, and service quality.
- Enforce discipline, attendance, grooming standards and standard operating procedures.

- Cleanliness audit score (target ≥ 90%)
- Washroom hygiene compliance / odour score
- Hostel cleanliness rating (students + management)
- Vendor SLA compliance (%)
- Housekeeping staff attendance compliance

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Hospitality/Facility/Hotel Management preferred).
- 10+ years experience in facility management or hospitality operations—education, hotels, or corporate campuses preferred.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping standards, vendor management, hygiene compliance, and campus operations.
- Ability to lead teams, handle pressure, multitask, and maintain discipline.
