Overview
We are seeking a skilled Facility Operator to support the daily operation of our beverage production facility. This is a hands-on production role focused on operating and monitoring tools and equipment (e.g., nitrogen dosing, compressed air, CO₂/N₂ supply, water quality parameters, and sanitation cycles). The ideal candidate has experience in beverage packaging (water, beer, seltzer, etc.), understands pressure/flow/temperature controls, and operates with a strong food-safety mindset. You’ll help ensure consistent production, safe operation, and high-quality finished products.
Responsibilities
Line Operation & Process Control
- Operate and monitor the canning/packaging line.
- Pressure monitoring (tank head pressure, line pressure, CO₂/N₂ supply pressure)
- Temperature (product temperature, rinse/sanitation temps where applicable)
- Flow rates and system stability
- Understand and support nitrogen dosing operations (e.g., nitrogen doser setup, verification of dosing performance, safe handling around N₂ systems).
- Perform routine checks and adjustments on line equipment to maintain throughput, minimize downtime, and reduce defects.
- Quality Control of the packaging process.
Packaging Equipment Operation (Typical Line Components)
Operate/support equipment such as:
- Depalletizer (safe staging and feeding of empty cans)
- Rinser/twister or air rinse system
- Filler/seamer (basic checks, monitoring, in-process quality checks)
- Nitrogen doser
- Conveyors and accumulation tables
- Date/lot coder
- Case packer, boxing/gluing, shrink wrap, palletizer (manual or automated)
- Coordinate material flow: cans, ends/lids, cartons/trays, carriers, adhesives, film, pallets.
Quality & Food Safety
- Follow food safety, and sanitation SOPs at all times.
- Maintain traceability: accurate lot coding, material tracking, and production records.
- Conduct and document in-process quality checks, such as:
- Fill volume/net contents checks
- Seam checks (as trained) and defect identification
- Dissolved oxygen/carbonation checks
- Package integrity (dents, leaks, code legibility)
Sanitation & Changeovers
- Execute line CIP/sanitation steps as required (rinse cycles, sanitation verification, teardown/cleaning of contact areas per SOP).
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
- Identify and respond to common line issues: misfeeds, jams, seam alarms, pressure instability, dosing faults, coding failures, glue issues, conveyance problems, etc.
- Escalate complex mechanical/electrical issues to maintenance promptly with clear, detailed observations.
- Support continuous improvement by documenting downtime causes, participating in root-cause discussions, and suggesting process improvements.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in any food and beverage processes would be a plus.
- Working knowledge of canning line operations, including fundamentals of filling, seaming, conveyance, and packaging systems.
- Comfortable reading and responding to pressure gauges, flow indicators, and temperature readings; understanding of how these relate to product quality and line stability.
- Sanitation practices, and production documentation.
We look forward to adding a dedicated and hard-working member to our team.
