Summary
The role of the Factory Controller is to assist the Supply Financial Controller with the financial reporting for all operations of the Manufacturing Facilities. This includes establishing budgeted standard costs for all finished goods, Annual budget/forecast preparation and analysis to support the achievement of business objectives and targets.
Scope & Dimension of the Role
The scope of the work includes collaborating with the Area Supply leadership team, Regional Supply Controller, Regional Manufacturing Director, Manufacturing Director, Head of Procurement, Quality Team, Quality and Commercial Team. The position directly reports to Supply Financial Controller of the Company).
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Strategic

Develop, control and ensure robust evaluations of capital investment plans and requests Ensure that the control environment at the factory is robust and any deficiencies are highlighted and remediated on a timely basis smooth functioning of the Factory function. Work closely with the commercial team to highlight and drive factory related cost saving initiatives and aim to deliver savings to contribute to company’s bottom line. Financial reporting for all Pakistan Manufacturing operations by closely coordinating with the Supply team. Challenge assumptions in seeking cost improvements in Supply Chain; seek for and support cost improvement opportunities, validate and review proposed savings Coordinate reporting of actuals (including organizing and overseeing timeliness and accuracy of period-end close) across Supply Chain; and forecasts across Supply Chain; ensure transparency of this process Ensure full transparency of costs and financial impact to the organization of strategic Supply Chain decisions Coordinate and be key contact between Factory Supply Team and Local/Regional Finance Teams. Optimizes the use of financial data visibility to provide accurate and timely reporting & aid management in decision-making and development of financial strategies. Identify areas that are underperforming and help drive recommendations and plans to correct.

Benchmarking against similar setup Factories and bring in best practices to achieve cost-optimizations Give timely visibility of cost variances to ensure that planned targets are met. Give visibility through monthly steering meetings via GMVA and supply variances to assist top team to take timely corrective action. Give timely visibility of Conversion cost variances vs Budgets/forecast and cost optimization measures to Factory Supply Team to identify areas of cost controlling and ensure planned budgets are met. Actively participate in regional submission of quarterly forecasts and annual plan Prepare Factory Operation Statement (FOS) and issue FOS and Dashboard reports to Factory Manager Prepare and align Capex Budget with Factory Team along-with the discussion on their financial feasibility and investment paybacks Prepare Transfer prices (TPs) for each SKU as per the annual budgets/forecasts Prepare and share TP to the region & Export Markets Perform Financial analysis / evaluation of Sourcing / BOM / operational changes to the existing / New SKUs Prepare financial evaluation for various projects including in house manufacturing / outsourcing. Prepare annual Factory budget Develop finished goods standard costs for Budget year Analyze cost changes and report to Supply Financial Controller Prepare bottoms-up annual budgets/forecasts (FC1/2/3) financial model for Supply Financial Controller Fixed Costs forecasting for the Factory supply area Prepare cost allocation model for the aforesaid budget/forecasts and onward allocation of cost to each SKUs
Financial reporting for Pakistan Supply operations and manufacturing: Prepare Monthly Supply Deck for local/Regional/Global Finance Teams Prepare and provide visibility of mid-month forecast to the regional/global team Fixed Asset Management and reconciliation and schedules preparation Analyzing and reporting all manufacturing variances Balance Sheet reconciliation Fixed cost analysis for the supply group. Squeeze & X-Trim Projects analysis. Ensure all accruals are timely recorded and reported and perform discussions for over/under provisions Assist supply team on a routine basis on the following fronts: Ensuring factory overheads are within plan and timely highlighting
overruns Calculating pay backs and IRR for key projects and carrying out post investment reviews Calculating impact on gross margins due to various squeeze and anti-squeeze initiative Participate in business planning; prepare and coordinate the Supply Chain budget with Supply Chain management and perform revisions or simulations if needed Supports annual external financial audit process Responsible to ensure compliance with Global Financial Control Framework and perform independent testing based on guidance from Global Internal Audit Team
Key Challenges
Coordination with a multitude of departments within the company to obtain cost data and then controlling costs, suggesting and implementing ideas for improvement to bring cost-savings requires a very hands-on and active approach.

Professional Qualification & Experience

Educated to a Minimum MBA Finance or Professional qualification i.e. CA/ACCA/CFA. 2 - 4 Years’ Experience in a FP&A roles.
