Job Description: Factory Manager

Working Location: Duqm, Sultanate of Oman
Working Time: Flexible, as per operational requirements

Position Summary

The Factory Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating overall operations of the Fish Meal, Fish Oil, and Freezing Units, ensuring efficient production, quality compliance, cost control, safety, and statutory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

  • Plan and supervise daily operations of Fish Meal, Fish Oil, and Freezing Units
  • Ensure production targets and schedules are achieved
  • Optimize utilization of raw materials, manpower, and machinery
  • Monitor yield, wastage, and process efficiency

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure product quality meets export, customer, and regulatory standards
  • Implement and monitor quality control and hygiene practices
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, environmental, and factory regulations

Maintenance & Utilities

  • Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of all plant machinery
  • Control utilities including water intake, power consumption, steam, and fuel
  • Monitor sewage collection and discharge as per environmental norms

Manpower Management

  • Manage supervisors, operators, and support staff
  • Plan shifts, attendance, overtime, and productivity
  • Provide training and enforce discipline and safety practices

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Ensure safe working conditions and use of PPE
  • Implement safety procedures and emergency preparedness
  • Maintain environmental controls, waste management, and effluent handling

Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and utility reports
  • Coordinate with procurement, maintenance, QA/QC, and accounts
  • Report operational performance to management

Other Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of new projects, expansions, or equipment installations
  • Liaise with government authorities and external agencies for approvals, inspections, and compliance
  • Ensure effective communication across departments and teams
  • Maintain documentation for audits, certifications, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Fisheries, Food Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 5-year experience in Factory Operation
  • Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills
