Overview

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and engaging Biology Faculty Member for the Preparatory Year Program. The role focuses on delivering foundational biological sciences to pre-medical students, ensuring strong academic grounding and readiness for advanced medical studies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Biology lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for preparatory year students
• Simplify complex biological concepts and build strong foundational understanding
• Use student-centered teaching methods to enhance engagement and learning outcomes
• Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital tools effectively
• Prepare and administer assessments using ExamSoft or similar platforms
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic reports

Student Support

• Provide academic guidance and support to students transitioning into medical education
• Identify students at risk and provide timely intervention
• Encourage active participation and critical thinking

Academic Quality & Compliance

• Adhere to academic policies, quality standards, and accreditation requirements
• Contribute to course development and continuous improvement
• Submit course reports and required academic documentation on time

Collaboration & Engagement

• Participate in departmental meetings and academic activities
• Collaborate with faculty members to align teaching strategies and curriculum delivery

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Biology or a related field
• Experience teaching Biology (preferably in preparatory year or foundation programs)
• Strong ability to explain scientific concepts clearly to beginner-level students
• Familiarity with LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools
