Family Law Contract Attorney (1099) The Blacknall Firm – Remote / Dallas Area

The Blacknall Firm is seeking an experienced Texas family law attorney to assist with ongoing cases on a contract basis. We are looking for someone who enjoys courtroom work and is confident handling both custody and property matters from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• Appear in person for hearings and trials in Dallas, Collin, Denton, and Rockwall Counties
• Attend mediations in person when requested
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings
• Work with the firm’s paralegal for drafting pleadings, discovery, and settlement documents
• Draft pleadings and correspondence when needed
• Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the firm
• Provide timely updates and ensure compliance with court deadlines and local rules
• Demonstrate professionalism, preparation, and strong advocacy in every appearance

Qualifications:

• Licensed Texas attorney in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of family law experience, including courtroom appearances
• Proficient in drafting pleadings, discovery, and settlement documents
• Comfortable handling cases involving both children and property division
• Regularly attends family law CLEs and keeps current on Texas Family Code updates
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional, organized, and dependable

Preferred:

• Experience in Dallas, Collin, Denton, or Rockwall Counties
• Solo practitioner or independent attorney with flexibility for contract work

Compensation:

Competitive hourly rate based on experience. Paid on a 1099 basis.
