Family Law Paralegal

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of family law and will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys in various legal processes. This position requires excellent organizational skills and proficiency in legal drafting. The Family Law Paralegal will be instrumental in managing case files, preparing documents, and ensuring that all legal procedures are followed accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in the preparation of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoption matters.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Review and manage documents using document management systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain organized case files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference.
• Utilize tools such as Westlaw for legal drafting and information gathering.
• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for their cases.
• Ensure adherence to deadlines for filings and court appearances.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role is required. Experience within family law is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of family law principles and procedures preferred.
• Proficiency in legal drafting and document review.
• Experience with legal research tools like Westlaw is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining high-quality work standards.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
