Farm Mechanic

We are seeking a dependable, experienced Farm Mechanic to join our agricultural operation. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a wide variety of farm equipment to keep our operation running efficiently throughout the year.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and capable of working independently while prioritizing equipment run time during busy planting and harvest seasons.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues on farm equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tractors, trucks, trailers, irrigation systems, and harvest equipment.
• Service and repair diesel and gasoline engines.
• Troubleshoot GPS, monitor, and precision agriculture systems.
• Conduct seasonal equipment inspections and prepare equipment for planting and harvest.
• Weld and fabricate parts as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist with general farm operations when necessary.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns.

Equipment Experience Preferred

Experience working on:

• Tractors (John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, etc.)
• Sprayers
• Planters
• Potato planting and harvesting equipment
• Semi trucks and trailers
• Skid steers and loaders
• Irrigation equipment

Qualifications

• 3+ years of agricultural, diesel, heavy equipment, or related mechanical experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to operate farm equipment safely.
• Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus).
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work extended hours during planting and harvest seasons.
