Fashion Designer

The Fashion Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative apparel collections aligned with current market trends and company objectives. The role requires strong creative vision, technical design skills, and an in-depth understanding of fabrics, trims, and production processes within the textile industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research global fashion trends, color palettes, and consumer preferences to develop seasonal collections.
• Create detailed sketches, mood boards, and digital illustrations using software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CorelDRAW.
• Develop new fabric concepts, prints, and embellishments in collaboration with the textile development team.
• Prepare design specifications, technical sheets, and measurements for sample development.
• Coordinate with production, merchandising, and quality assurance teams to ensure designs are accurately translated into final products.
• Source and select fabrics, trims, and accessories according to design requirements and cost parameters.
• Present design concepts and prototypes to management and buyers for approval.
• Monitor sample development, fittings, and make necessary design adjustments.
• Ensure that designs meet market demand, brand identity, and quality standards.
• Maintain a design archive and documentation of all collections.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong creative and artistic sense with the ability to forecast and interpret fashion trends.
• Excellent knowledge of fabric types, garment construction, dyeing, printing, and embroidery techniques.
• Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, etc.).
• Good understanding of textile production processes and costing.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
• Attention to detail, time management, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in the textile or apparel industry, preferably in export-oriented or branded fashion setups.
