About the Role

As a Designer at SUMWON STUDIOS , you’ll lead and mentor our design team to elevate seasonal and viral capsule collections. You're a trend-savvy leader who not only designs but strategizes, balancing creative vision with data-backed decisions, driving seamless execution, and maximizing commercial impact.

What you'll do

Team Leadership & Coaching

• Lead a multidisciplinary design team, fostering creativity while upholding brand excellence, timely delivery, and seamless collaboration across the creative ecosystem.

Concept & Trend Strategy

• Define seasonal and micro‑trend concepts. Conduct in-depth trend research, tracking silhouettes, palettes, fabric innovation, and viral moments, to inspire collections that resonate instantly.

Design Execution & Quality

• Oversee CADs, detailed tech packs, and sample approvals. Standardize processes that ensure quality, brand consistency, and speed from sketch to production.

Cross‑Function Integration

• Partner with Buying, Merchandising, Production, and Trading teams, especially through our Shein alliance, to align on assortment strategy, rebalance best‑sellers, and respond dynamically to real‑time sales patterns.

Commercial & Data-Driven Decisions

• Analyze performance data and customer feedback to refine recurring hits. Lead trading initiatives like recolors or restocks for top-performing SKUs to maximize margins and sell-through.

Market & Competitor Insights

• Maintain a finger on the global fashion pulse, competitor drops, emerging brands, street culture, to ensure Sumwon stays ahead of market shifts.

Calendar & Process Oversight

• Own the design development calendar and critical path. Ensure clear scheduling, sample delivery, and on-time product drops, even under fast‑paced conditions.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• 5+ years ’ experience in fast-fashion design, preferably with e-commerce or high-volume brands.
• Proven team management experience.
• Strong technical knowledge: garment construction, fabrics, trims, and costing.
• Expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and developing technical packs.
• Excellent trend forecasting, styling sense, and creative direction.
• Commercial mindset with a track record of translating data into design decisions.
• Exceptional organization, communication, and leadership skills.
• Passion-driven by social trends, rapid drops, and consumer behavior.
