About the Role:

The Field Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of various technical systems and equipment at client sites. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex electrical and mechanical systems, including fire alarm systems, compressors, and fiber optic networks. The technician will perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. Working independently and collaboratively, the technician will provide timely and effective solutions to technical issues, enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Ultimately, this role is essential for maintaining the integrity and functionality of critical infrastructure in diverse environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and fiber optic technology.
  • Ability to use test equipment and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification in electrical or mechanical systems (e.g., EPA certification, NICET).
  • Experience working with fire alarm systems and compressors.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance best practices.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience in a field service or technical support role.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and computer hardware systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on compressors, fire alarm systems, and fiber optic equipment to ensure continuous operation.
  • Utilize test equipment and power tools to diagnose faults and verify repairs.
  • Document service activities, including maintenance performed, parts used, and recommendations for future service.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain technical issues and provide guidance on system operation and maintenance.
