Field Service Technician

Summary/Objective
If you are self-motivated and have a willingness to grow, then a Field Service Technician is the perfect position for
you at SAMSON Group. This position will support our sales team, distributors, and end-users of our products with
technical support and maintenance related to the use of our products. You will work directly with our Baytown, TX
division and have a major impact on our customers and the relationship we maintain with them.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly, and testing of valves at Samson facilities and client locations.
• Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
• Plan, organize, and prioritize assigned responsibilities and coordinate work with employees and contractors.
• Customer communication - technical assistance, troubleshooting, and determining disposition of repairs.
• Documentation of repair / testing / assembly activities - cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, labor hours, etc.
• This position requires up to 75% travel in North America and international. Travel may be overnight travel and stay to various customer locations.
• Subject to callouts to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; have strong organizational skills and eye for detail.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks.
• Proficiency with computers including MS Office applications such as Excel and Outlook as well as other computer-based work training, time reporting, expense reporting, and on-line work applications and documentation.
• Knowledge of HART Communicator or other diagnostic analyzer manufacturer. (preferred)
• Must be able to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions and team lift up to 150 pounds.
• Must be able to work at elevated heights and/or confined spaces.
Education & Experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Associates Degree in Instrumentation (Preferred)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a field technician
• E & I: minimum 5 years (Preferred)
Licenses, Certifications & Memberships
• Valid driver’s license with demonstrated safe driving record.
• TWIC card - (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
