Field Supervisor – Merchandising Team
Job Summary
The Field Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing a team of merchandisers to ensure high-quality execution of in-store activities, audit compliance, and achievement of monthly performance targets. This role requires strong knowledge of merchandising principles, team leadership experience, and the ability to maintain operational excellence across assigned territories.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of merchandisers/field agents.
- Create and manage weekly and monthly field schedules.
- Allocate routes efficiently to ensure full market coverage.
- Monitor daily attendance, productivity, and performance.
- Conduct regular field visits to supervise on-ground execution.
2. Training & Development
- Train new and existing merchandisers on merchandising standards, audit procedures, and company guidelines.
- Provide on-the-job coaching to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify skill gaps and conduct refresher training sessions.
3. Audit Quality Control
- Review submitted audits and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify errors, inconsistencies, or fraudulent entries.
- Provide corrective feedback and ensure immediate rectification.
- Maintain audit quality standards across the team.
4. Target & Performance Management
- Ensure monthly audit targets are achieved.
- Track KPIs including completion rates, data accuracy, and field productivity.
- Analyze performance data and implement improvement plans where needed.
- Report weekly and monthly performance updates to management.
5. Operational Management
- Oversee overall on-ground operations within assigned territory.
- Resolve field challenges and escalations promptly.
- Coordinate with clients, supervisors, and internal departments as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Marketing, or related field).
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in merchandising or retail field operations.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team.
- Strong understanding of merchandising standards, planograms, and in-store execution.
- Experience reviewing audits or field reports is preferred.
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
- Ability to analyze performance data and drive improvements.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Valid driving license (if field travel is required).
