Field Verification & Collections Officers

Key Responsibilities

1. Field Visits & SME Verification

Conduct structured on-site visits to SME clients to validate business operations and risk indicators, including:

• Verify and capture Google Maps geolocation of business premises
• Take timestamped photographs of:
• Office premises
• Inventory and stock levels
• Warehouses and storage facilities
• Retail outlets (if applicable)
• Assess and document:
• Number of employees on-site
• Type, quantity, and estimated value of inventory
• Warehouse condition (cleanliness, ventilation, layout)
• Availability and condition of:
• Refrigeration units (where applicable)
• Fire extinguishers and basic safety equipment
• Confirm operational activity (open/closed status, customer flow, supplier deliveries)
• Validate and verify required business licenses
• Identify and report any red flags or inconsistencies versus declared information

2. Collections & Payment Follow-Up

Support collections and recovery activities by:

• Contacting customers via phone or approved communication channels to:
• Follow up on due and overdue payments
• Send payment reminders and settlement confirmations
• Accurately recording call outcomes and customer commitments in the system
• Escalating delinquent cases based on defined DPD tiers
• Supporting early-stage recovery actions before legal or third-party escalation
• Preparing legal and warning letters

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate digital records of:
• Site visit checklists
• Photographic evidence
• Call logs and customer responses
• Ensure documentation is uploaded and stored in line with internal policies
• Immediately flag any suspicious activity, misrepresentation, or fraud indicators

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in:
• Field verification, credit inspection, or SME site visits and/or
• Collections, recovery, or customer follow-up roles
• Experience in fintech, microfinance, SME lending, or trade finance is a strong advantage

Working Conditions

• Frequent travel for field visits
• Combination of fieldwork and desk-based follow-ups
• May require working outside standard office hours

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
