About the role
We are seeking a Finance & Accounting professional based in Doha to manage core accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain controls, and support business decision‑making across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- General ledger &* month‑end:* Maintain general ledger, prepare month‑end close activities, reconcile balance sheet accounts, post journals and support timely financial close.
- Financial reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, management accounts and variance commentary for senior management.
- Accounts payable &* receivable:* Oversee AP invoice processing, payments, vendor reconciliations, and AR invoicing, collections and ageing management.
- Cash &* bank reconciliations:* Reconcile bank accounts, manage cash receipts and payments, and support cash forecasting activities.
- Budgeting &* forecasting:* Support annual budgeting and periodic reforecasts; provide analysis and reporting to business managers.
- Tax &* statutory compliance:* Prepare tax returns/support filings, ensure VAT/GST (if applicable) compliance, and support statutory audits and local regulatory reporting.
- Internal controls &* policy:* Implement and maintain SOX‑style controls, accounting policies and standard operating procedures; support internal and external audits.
- Cost accounting &* analysis:* Analyse costs, overhead allocations and product/service profitability; support cost control initiatives.
- Fixed assets &* payroll support:* Maintain fixed asset register, depreciation schedules and liaise with payroll for salary postings and statutory contributions.
- ERP &* systems:* Maintain accounting modules in ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), drive process automation and improve reporting tools.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Partner with finance business partners, operations, procurement and external advisors to resolve queries and support projects.
- Ad hoc projects: Support finance transformation, system implementations, process improvements and M&A accounting as required.
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) preferred.
- 2–6 years’ experience in accounting and finance roles; experience in Doha/Qatar or GCC preferred.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, month‑end close experience and understanding of IFRS.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems and reporting tools (Power BI/Tableau) advantageous.
- Knowledge of local tax, VAT and statutory requirements in Qatar is desirable.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
- Valid work authorisation for Qatar.
