Finance & Business Manager - Logistics/Transportation

The Role

We are seeking a Finance & Business Manager to serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership overseeing financial performance and operational execution.

This is a hands-on, in-house role designed for someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day financial and operational coordination of the business — allowing leadership to stay focused on strategy and growth.

This is not a passive accounting role. You will be embedded in the operation, working across finance, payroll, reporting, and day-to-day execution to ensure the business runs efficiently and profitably.

What You’ll Own

  • Full-cycle accounting (month-end close, reconciliations, GL oversight)
  • QuickBooks management and accuracy of financial data
  • Weekly cash flow tracking and forecasting
  • Payroll oversight across a multi-state workforce
  • AP/AR processes and financial discipline
  • Financial reporting for leadership (clear, accurate, actionable)
  • Budget vs. actuals and variance analysis
  • Coordination with operations to identify inefficiencies and cost leaks
  • Supporting compliance, audits, and financial organization

What Success Looks Like

  • Financials are accurate and timely
  • Month-end close completed within 10 business days or less
  • Improved accountability across spending and operations
  • Leadership is no longer pulled into day-to-day financial and administrative issues

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or business operations
  • Strong QuickBooks experience (Online or Enterprise)
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, or a high-volume operational environment strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of cash flow management (not just P&L reporting)
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on-site and cross-functionally with operations

What This Role Is NOT

  • Not remote
  • Not purely strategic — this is a hands-on execution role
  • Not limited to accounting — this role touches multiple areas of the business

Growth Opportunity

This role is designed to evolve into a key operational leadership position within the company as we continue to grow.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
