We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance & Commercial Modelling Analyst with aviation industry experience to support financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. The role involves building and maintaining financial and commercial models tailored to aviation operations, analyzing business performance, and generating insights that drive profitability, operational efficiency, and fleet/route optimization. Strong financial acumen, advanced Excel skills, and experience in aviation finance, commercial planning, or corporate finance are essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial & Commercial Modelling
- Develop, maintain, and refine aviation-specific financial and commercial models (e.g., route profitability, fleet planning, aircraft utilization, cost-per-flight-hour models).
- Build financial models to support business planning, investment evaluations, and strategic aviation projects.
- Prepare comprehensive financial forecasts, budgets, and scenario analyses based on operational, commercial, and market inputs.
Performance Analysis
- Conduct detailed analysis of aviation business performance, including revenue streams, operating costs, yield, load factors, and profitability metrics.
- Evaluate commercial initiatives such as new routes, codeshare opportunities, ground handling contracts, leasing decisions, and fuel cost impacts.
- Monitor KPIs relevant to the aviation sector and identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities.
Strategic & Commercial Support
- Support strategic initiatives by providing financial insights for fleet expansion, aircraft leasing, contract negotiations, and commercial strategy.
- Assess the financial viability of aviation projects, including CAPEX/OPEX evaluations.
- Prepare clear, concise financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with finance, operations, commercial planning, procurement, engineering, and airport services teams to gather data and validate assumptions.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial inputs, operational data, and modelling outputs.
Risk & Opportunity Identification
- Identify financial risks and commercial opportunities impacting aviation operations.
- Recommend data-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve profitability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Aviation Management, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, aviation commercial modelling, or corporate finance (aviation sector experience is strongly preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modelling techniques.
- Experience with financial planning tools or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, etc.) is an advantage.
- Solid analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and capability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
- Candidates currently based in Qatar are preferred.
