Job Description

Job Title: Finance Consultant

Mandatory: Experience within the oil and gas, energy, or petrochemical industry


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis for ongoing and new oil & gas projects, including feasibility studies, ROI, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Support capital budgeting, project financing, and investment appraisals aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for exploration, production, and infrastructure projects.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, budget variances, and cost efficiency across departments.
  • Advise on risk mitigation strategies, taxation implications, and financial controls specific to the energy industry.
  • Evaluate joint ventures, partnerships, and M&A opportunities, providing detailed financial due diligence.
  • Assist in preparing management reports, board presentations, and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with Qatar’s tax laws, energy regulations, and IFRS standards.
  • Collaborate with internal audit, procurement, and operations teams to align financial processes with corporate strategy.
  • Provide insights on commodity price trends, currency fluctuations, and macroeconomic factors impacting profitability.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Master’s degree or MBA in Finance is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CFA, or ACCA are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in corporate finance, management consulting, or financial planning within the oil and gas, energy, or petrochemical sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of project finance, joint venture accounting, and cost allocation models.
  • Experience in financial modeling, investment analysis, and ERP/BI tools (SAP, Oracle, Power BI).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in advanced Excel modeling and financial analytics.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and Qatar’s financial and tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with upstream/downstream operations, production sharing agreements (PSA), and cost recovery mechanisms.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and senior management.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and results-oriented mindset.
