Chief Accountant

A Chief Accountant oversees the financial operations of an organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial direction. Key Responsibilities

• Financial Oversight: Manage all financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Policy Development: Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Month-End and Year-End Closing: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement preparation and reconciliation.
• Audit Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and financial performance metrics to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and guide the accounting staff, ensuring efficient operations and reliable financial data production

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are often preferred.
• Experience: Significant experience in accounting or finance roles, with a proven track record of leadership and management within an accounting department.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration with various departments and external stakeholders

Pay: QAR4,000.00 - QAR6,000.00 per month
