The Finance Coordinator will be responsible for overall management of financial, operational, accounting and reporting functions in accordance with organizational and donors polices and procedures for the assigned projects. Emphasis will be placed on financial management practices and systems that are compliant with organizational policies, local laws, adhere to donor requirements, and are conducive to effective implementation of projects.

Specific responsibilities within each functional area are as follows:

Key Responsibilities:

Finance:

·Manage day-to-day financial functions and ensure accuracy in recording of project expenditures in compliance with organizational policies and donors’ financial and procurement regulations

·Manage petty cash transactions and monitor cash disbursements in accordance with established financial procedures.

·Prepare high-quality, timely financial reports for donors, ensuring full compliance with donor-specific reporting requirements.

· Conduct regular budget performance analysis, identifying variances, financial risks, and accounting discrepancies, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

·Oversee the allocation of donor portfolios across project teams, ensuring balanced workload and clarity of financial responsibilities.

· Maintain the integrity of financial data in the accounting system and ensure systematic organization of financial documents and filing systems.

· Ensure accurate tax deductions and timely submission of income and sales taxes; prepare tax reconciliation statements, identify compliance risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.

· Liaise with the Regional Finance team to complete all necessary financial reviews prior to submission of donor financial reports.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for donor-specific financial audits, and coordinate with internal and external auditors as required.

Administration and Procurement:

· Supervise procurement processes to ensure adherence to donor regulations and organizational procurement policies.

· Oversee asset and fleet management, including inventory control, insurance coverage, and tracking of vehicles and equipment.

· Coordinate with the administration team to ensure completeness and compliance of procurement documentation for timely processing of vendor and contractor payments.

· Review procurement documentation such as Requests for Quotations (RFQs), bid evaluations, purchase orders, and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

· Collaborate with technical teams to facilitate the timely procurement and delivery of goods and services.

· Provide procurement verification support to technical teams during field visits, ensuring alignment with procurement guidelines.

· Manage logistical arrangements for project activities, including transportation, travel, accommodation, workshops, and meetings.

· Maintain and regularly update inventory records for all non-expendable assets.

· Perform other relevant duties as assigned to support effective operations.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

· Self-driven with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

· Minimum of 8 years of progressive professional experience in the development sector.

· At least 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.

· Proven hands-on experience in procurement, administration, and logistics functions.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective verbal and written communication abilities.

· A minimum of 16 years of education in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CMA, ACCA, or CA (or equivalent) will be considered an asset.
