Position Summary The Finance Intern will support the finance team in day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities, helping to ensure accurate record-keeping, timely reconciliation, and efficient processing of transactions. This role provides practical exposure to accounting processes, financial analysis, and internal controls, and is ideal for a student or recent graduate seeking hands-on experience in a corporate finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping and data entry into the accounting/ERP system (sales, purchases, receipts, and payments).
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice verification, payment processing, and follow-up on outstanding receivables.
- Perform bank and intercompany reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Help prepare month-end closing tasks: journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing periodic financial reports and variance analyses for management.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by compiling and reconciling data.
- Participate in inventory checks and reconciliations (if applicable) and help investigate discrepancies.
- Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits.
- Help maintain and improve internal control documentation and financial process workflows.
- Conduct basic financial research and market checks as requested.
- Support ad-hoc finance projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Solid foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) and comfort working with spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with accounting or ERP software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Well-organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
