POSITION SUMMARY:

The Finance Intern will support the finance and accounting team in financial reporting, analysis, and operational finance activities across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to key financial processes, business performance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

The intern will assist with day-to-day financial operations while contributing to meaningful projects, including a capstone presentation at the conclusion of the internship.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with financial reporting, including preparation of reports and analysis of key metrics
  • Support month-end close activities, including data gathering and account reconciliations
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting functions as needed
  • Help maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business and operational initiatives
  • Assist in process improvement and standardization efforts within finance
  • Complete a capstone project and present findings and recommendations to leadership

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data analysis, pivot tables preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Experience:

  • Previous coursework, internship, or project experience in finance or accounting preferred but not required
