Position Overview

The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations across both The INKfluence and INK Games Publishing. This role focuses on financial reporting, revenue tracking, royalty payments, and operational financial coordination across ecommerce, product manufacturing, and licensing agreements.

The Finance Manager will work closely with leadership to ensure accurate financial tracking, strong visibility into product profitability, and clear reporting across multiple revenue channels.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Tracking

  • Prepare monthly financial summaries and reports
  • Track revenue across multiple channels including Shopify, Kickstarter, wholesale retail, and distribution
  • Monitor expenses and maintain organized financial records
  • Support budgeting and financial forecasting processes
  • Coordinate with bookkeeping and accounting partners
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, visibility, and efficiency across financial workflows

Product & Manufacturing Financial Management

  • Track manufacturing budgets and production deposits
  • Monitor cost of goods and product margin performance
  • Support financial planning for new product launches
  • Track vendor payments and production timelines
  • Evaluate production and purchasing workflows to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
  • Partner with operations and production teams to optimize financial planning and manufacturing processes

Royalty & Licensing Reporting

  • Calculate and track royalty obligations for licensed intellectual property
  • Prepare royalty statements and coordinate payments to authors and licensors
  • Maintain accurate records tied to licensing agreements
  • Ensure financial compliance with royalty structures
  • Recommend improvements to royalty tracking, reporting, and payment workflows to increase accuracy and efficiency

Ecommerce & Campaign Finance

  • Monitor financial performance of ecommerce sales
  • Support financial tracking for Kickstarter campaigns and fulfillment costs
  • Track inventory and product cost performance
  • Provide campaign and product profitability reports
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities across product lines and campaigns

Operational Financial Support

  • Track vendor payments and maintain production payment schedules
  • Support financial coordination across product launches and campaigns
  • Assist leadership with financial data needed for decision-making
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize current financial and operational processes across all areas of the company
  • Develop and implement scalable systems, workflows, and reporting structures to support company growth
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions to improve financial visibility, cost control, and operational performance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, ecommerce, and leadership teams to strengthen financial processes and business operations

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial operations
  • Experience working with ecommerce or consumer product businesses
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and cost tracking
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, ecommerce analytics, or inventory-based businesses
  • Experience working in or strong familiarity with startup environments, including comfort with fast-paced growth and evolving processes
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and financial workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and improve processes, systems, and workflows
  • Comfort working cross-functionally to drive operational efficiency and process optimization

  • Familiarity with startups or growth-stage companies

Compensation

Salary Range: $75,000 – $80,000

This role is structured as a 1099 independent contractor position, offering flexibility and autonomy while working closely with leadership across key financial and operational initiatives

Additional compensation may include:

  • quarterly performance bonuses and annual raises
  • growth opportunities within the company as the finance function expands

Growth Opportunity

As The INKfluence and INK Games Publishing continue to scale, this role has the potential to grow into CFO, with increased responsibility for financial strategy, forecasting, and leadership.

Pay: $69,127.50 - $75,000.00 per year
