Finance Manager

Job Title: Finance Manager / Controller (Healthcare)

Work Arrangement: Primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings as needed

Location: Orange County

Compensation: $40 to $70 per hour (based on experience)

About Us: We are a growing, medium-sized healthcare organization committed to delivering high-quality patient care and operational excellence. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Manager to oversee our financial operations and support strategic decision-making.

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for managing the organization’s financial operations, including bookkeeping, payroll, expense tracking, and financial reporting. The Finance Manager will work closely with leadership and collaborate with our medical billing team to ensure accurate revenue tracking, strong cash flow, and overall financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate employee compensation
  • Track and process all reimbursements, expenses, payments, and financial transactions
  • Maintain accurate financial records, receipts, and supporting documentation
  • Oversee financial aspects of the revenue cycle in collaboration with the billing manager, including monitoring collections, reimbursements, and accounts receivable
  • Analyze revenue cycle and financial reports to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure financial stability of the organization
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations
  • Coordinate with external accountants, tax professionals, and auditors as needed
  • Implement and improve financial systems, workflows, and internal controls
  • Provide financial insights to support leadership in strategic planning and decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or financial management
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Experience working in or alongside healthcare organizations preferred
  • Understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting principles
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a part-time, high-responsibility role
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with healthcare revenue cycle operations
  • Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance reimbursement workflows
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar)
