The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, cost control, and compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in the construction sector, with a solid understanding of project accounting, cash flow management, and cost analysis for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Manage project-based accounting, including cost allocation, revenue recognition, WIP (Work-in-Progress) tracking, and project profitability analysis.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure adequate liquidity for ongoing projects.
- Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate with project managers to track project budgets, cost variations, and financial performance.
- Conduct cost analysis and recommend cost-saving initiatives across projects and departments.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Manage VAT filings and ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, and external partners for audits, financial reviews, and funding arrangements.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor junior finance and accounting staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/ACCA/CMA preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of finance experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry in the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of project accounting, cost control, and contract management in the construction sector.
- Solid understanding of UAE VAT regulations and financial compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, ERP systems) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
