Financial Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst will support the Controller (finance and accounting) of the company as well as the company's COO (sales and operational analytics). This role requires strong analytical skills and an understanding of financial management in manufacturing businesses. Understanding of agriculture and retail industries is also preferred. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the Controller and COO to drive financial performance and strategy in support the company's growth objectives

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Track current financial data against budget/forecast and historical to share with leadership and all relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct product cost analysis and price/margin modeling
  • Partner with outside bookeepers on transaction categorization, and other month-end close accounting processes
  • Track Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders against Budget/ForecastFixed Asset tracking
  • Accounts Receivable Aging and Alert Reporting
  • Accounts Payable Aging and Alert Reporting
  • Study industry-specific research and available data to predict trends
  • Develop predictive financial models to support organizational decision making
  • Develop forecasting tools to automate financial data analysis
  • In addition to the above, this role will also perform the following in support of sales and operations: By channel, by customer, by SKU - sales history analysis and trending, utilizing various customer portals and technology to retrieve the data; Partner with sales to develop 12 month rolling operations/demand forecast; Sales compensation administration, calculation and tracking; Develop production metric tracking, including turns, cost trends and efficiency (machine-based, labor hours, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in finance or accounting
  • Proven experience working as a financial analyst doing tasks such as: budgeting, forecasting, budget/forecast vs. actuals variance analysis, sales analysis, profitability analysis, product price and cost analysis
  • Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases and financial software applications, including Quickbooks, GoogleSuite, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Proven experience and understanding of month-end, quarter-end, annual process as it relates to accounting transactions, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Excellent reporting, presenting and communication skills
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Ability to work with large datasets
  • Strategic thinking and organizational skills
  • Proven analytical and financial modeling skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $65,000.00 per year
