Financial Controller

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. This is a full time, IN PERSON job-not remote or fractional.

The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company and oversee the company's financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial management. They will lead the accounting team, develop financial strategies, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making and maintain financial health.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Manage and oversee the general ledger accounting process, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure data integrity.
  • Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and compliance with internal controls.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
  • Lead the budgeting process, including forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning to support organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Oversee cash management activities, including cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and liquidity monitoring.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Implement and maintain accounting software such as QuickBooks, Net Suite, Oracle or similar financial systems
  • Conduct internal audits related to technical accounting issues like double entry bookkeeping, payroll processing, and account reconciliation procedures.
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring adherence to audit standards.
  • Analysis of organization’s financial performance with recommendations for improvement
  • Responsibility for maintaining compliance with bank and other financial partner requirements
  • Files quarterly and annual taxes
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Required; CPA certification required
  • 8+years minimum experience as a Financial Controller or similar role. 5+ years in a management role
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, SOX compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Net Suite, Oracle or similar platforms; experience with financial management software is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting concepts including cash management, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent understanding of budgeting processes, forecasting techniques, and financial concepts
  • Ability to perform detailed account analysis using tools like Excel for account reconciliation and journal entry validation.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with excellent communication abilities for clear financial report writing and presentation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
