<Responsibilities>
- Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
- Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and regulatory filings in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management strategies, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and operational efficiency.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliation processes such as balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation to uphold data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), governmental regulations, and non-profit accounting standards where applicable.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation for regulatory reporting and ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements.
- Utilize advanced accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial management tools to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.
- Drive budgeting processes through detailed financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic planning initiatives.
- Lead technical accounting research on complex issues such as non-profit accounting standards or governmental accounting practices to ensure compliance.
<Requirements>
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role with a strong background in corporate or public sector accounting.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance requirements, and governmental or non-profit accounting standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and regulatory reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial software integration is a plus.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger management, and account analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data into clear insights for decision-making.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
