Financial & Operations Analyst

Role Summary

The Financial & Operations Analyst will:

· Perform and/or support operations finance tasks that pertain to customer billing, vendor set-up/processing of invoices, sales/use tax filing and cash management.

· Perform financial planning and analysis role which supports projecting of financial performance and reporting of current and historic financial performance.

· Serve as a bridge between finance, sales, operations and executive team to improve decision-making.

The Financial & Operations Analyst position is between the Chief Financial Officer, who focuses upon company financial strategy, performance and high-level decision-making and the bookkeeper, who is responsible for core general ledger entry and the generation of financial statements.

Major Position Responsibilities

· Partner with sales and project management teams to gather information needed for this position to perform customer setup and billing in QuickBooks

· Review and report upon customer project profitability vs. customer proposals, providing feedback loop for sales and operations

· Leading the Accounts Receivable collection process, including weekly reporting to Executive Team

· Vendor-related processes such as invoice processing, purchase order reconciliation, etc.

· Perform sales/use tax steps for billing, state filings, new state research/registration and proactively communicate with internal teams as required

· Management of expense reporting process including review and approval of designated employee expense reports, system issue resolution, etc.

· Coordination of capital expenditure information gathering and depreciation schedule maintenance required for bookkeeping

Financial Planning & Analysis

· Generation of on-going and ad hoc financial analyses such as, but not limited to, initial financial statement review/analysis, revenue/cost/profit projections, cash usage/projection, project financial performance vs proposal, staffing/benefits cost, etc.

· Lead annual budgeting process and finalize budget figures necessary for entry into bookkeeping system

· Developing or upgrading existing models/processes for ongoing use such as financial statement and cash projection, budgeting, key performance indicators (KPIs)

· Pro-active identification and provision of financial reporting and information to the Clarity team and, if necessary, to external stakeholders

Communication and Reporting

· The Financial & Operations Analyst will interact with the entire Clarity team and with external stakeholders such as, but not limited to, customer accounts payable teams, customer representatives, vendors, consultants/professional support teams. Clarity expects all communication to be clear, respectful, timely, transparent and inclusive. This position will maintain communication standards that meet or exceed company standards.

· Reporting and information will be timely, accurate and provide constructive information.

Confidentiality

· Related to the services provided by Clarity and related companies, Clarity employees may become aware of confidential information related to [security or other] system functions, customer personnel, roles and/or security structures or other external confidential information.

· Related to the specific role, this position will have access to highly confidential internal information on company performance, customers lists and performance, employee compensation and other sensitive information.

· Employee will sign and adhere to a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement related to the company services provided, internal information and other sensitive information, including customer-specific agreements, as required.

· The Financial & Operations Analyst will perform in a manner to meet or exceed ongoing and annual goals and key performance indicators.

· Completion of other duties as assigned.

Required Competencies and Skill Sets

· Strong interpersonal communication and relationship skills

· Ability to “translate” financial or numerical concepts or results to those not in finance.

· Effective financial statement analysis to be able to identify past and projected key drivers of performance, trends and anomalies to be investigated

· Internal drive for performance and ability to overcome obstacles that may impede completion

· Willingness and ability to tactfully challenge the status quo

Systems/Tools

· Proficient Microsoft Office user with Expert-level Excel knowledge

· Experience working with QuickBooks Online (desired)

· Working knowledge of data tools (database, Power BI, Tableau) (desired)

· Demonstrated ability to effectively use artificial intelligence tools to improve finance or reporting processes, efficiencies and output (desired)

Experience and Education Requirements

· Minimum 3 years of financial analyst experience or accounting role with progressive financial analysis requirements

· Business, accounting or finance related bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Reports To: Clarity Chief Financial Officer

Works Alongside: CFO, President, Sales Team, Project Management Team, Bookkeeper

Work location

This position is predominantly a remote, work from home position. In-person meetings with other team members and meetings at the Clarity SSU office and warehouse will occur periodically and as needed to successfully obtain information, develop team relationships and work collaboratively with others or to complete team projects. Occasional customer job site visits may be necessary. The Clarity SSU warehouse is available for daily work tasks as an option.

Work Hours

· Monday – Friday: 8am – 5pm (Salaried)

Note: It is the goal of Clarity SSU tooffer our employees flexibility and workarounds for family and lifestyle commitments to the extent that job commitments are met and other internal team or external stakeholders are not unduly impacted. However, due to the nature of this industry and the hours of our clients and our service technicians, and sub-contractors, this role may require occasional calls or emails to be answered and work to be performed outside of regular working hours. In the infrequent situations that prompt response is required, it is expected that the Financial & Operations Analyst does make themselves available for such instances.

Travel requirements

· Minimal travel, if any, outside of the St. Louis region

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
