The FP&A Analyst supports the bank’s financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting within a community banking environment. This role provides analytical insights, financial modeling, and clear financial reporting to support senior leadership decision-making, regulatory compliance, and effective balance sheet and profitability management. The position works closely with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Lending, and Risk Management
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Banking or financial services experience preferred (0–3 years for junior candidates).
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, or financial analysis.
- Understanding of bank financial statements, loan and deposit products, and interest margin dynamics.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills; experience with financial planning or ALM systems a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Support annual budgeting and long-range financial planning processes by gathering inputs, validating assumptions, and maintaining models and schedules.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts for the income statement, balance sheet, loans, deposits, and key performance indicators.
- Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods, and communicate key drivers.
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate performance, growth initiatives, and resource allocation.
- Prepare financial dashboards and management reports highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Produce monthly Board financial reports, including financial performance summaries, key ratios, and portfolio analysis.
- Analyze loan portfolio activity (growth, mix, fundings, payoffs) and deposit trends (balances, flows, composition, and cost).
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery of all internal and Board-level financial materials.
- Support quarterly Asset Liability Management (ALM) modeling and reporting, including interest rate risk, earnings-at-risk, and liquidity stress testing.
- Collect, validate, and maintain ALM data inputs and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate data and reporting needs with external ALM consultants.
- Monitor daily cash positions and assist with liquidity tracking, forecasting, and collateral monitoring.
- Monitor and report on business unit profitability, net interest margin trends, and other key banking metrics.
- Assist with financial data and analysis required for regulatory reporting.
- Support internal audit, external audit, and regulatory examination requests.
- Coordinate and validate loan fundings for policy compliance and financial accuracy.
- Maintain loan funding logs and assist with pipeline, maturity, and exposure reporting.
- Adhere to all bank policies, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation for budgeting, forecasting, ALM, liquidity, and reporting processes.
- Work closely with Accounting, Treasury, Risk Management, Lending, Credit, and Loan Operations.
- Present financial analysis and findings in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
