Financial Reporting Associate

Location: Boston, MA (Downtown)


Work Environment: Full-Time, On-Site

A leading Boston-based alternative investment firm is seeking a Financial Reporting Associate to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing accounting professional coming directly from public accounting who is looking to transition into the investment management industry. The Financial Reporting Associate will play a key role in supporting the firm’s financial reporting, fund accounting, and regulatory reporting processes. This individual will work closely with internal finance leadership, external auditors, and third-party administrators to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across the firm’s investment funds and management entities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements for investment funds and management companies
  • Support the financial reporting process in accordance with U.S. GAAP and investment company reporting standards
  • Coordinate with external fund administrators to review NAV packages, capital activity, and investor allocations
  • Assist with the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders
  • Prepare supporting schedules and analysis for financial statement disclosures
  • Participate in regulatory reporting and compliance requirements as needed
  • Assist with internal reporting and ad hoc financial analysis for senior leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and internal controls


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1–3 years of experience in public accounting , ideally with exposure to financial services, investment funds, or asset management clients
  • CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
