Summary

The Tax Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring end-to-end compliance with Income Tax Laws (direct and indirect) and all related local regulations for VFQ and its subsidiaries, including QFC regulations. The role involves managing tax risks, ensuring accurate and timely withholding tax processes, supporting audits, and overseeing the implementation of new tax requirements such as VAT.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the compliance of Income Tax Laws (direct and indirect) and related local regulations for VFQ and its subsidiaries (including QFC Regulations) and for the identification and management of tax risks.
  • Ensure end-to-end tax compliance of Vodafone Qatar and its subsidiaries. Advice management on optimizing the tax position of the Company while in compliance with the applicable tax rules.
  • Identify tax risks, propose suggested mitigation measures and finally own implementation of controls within the organization.
  • Work closely with finance operations to ensure accurate deduction of WHT from supplier payments. Ensure deposit of WHT to the tax authority and monthly tax filings and furnishing of withholding tax certificates to the vendors in time effective manners.
  • Review of agreements to ensure requisite tax clauses are incorporated to safeguard Vodafone interest and ensure compliance of Qatar tax laws. Provide necessary support with both external and internal tax audits, including collating and preparing the necessary documentation, wherever required.
  • Prepare and review responses and liaise with tax advisors and the tax authority to ensure compliance and process refund claims, wherever required. Ensure adherence to compliance-related deadlines such as extensions, tax card renewals, tax return filings and other tax related services.
  • Oversee and be responsible for the implementation of any new taxes, such as value added tax (VAT), as well as other changes to the tax laws in Qatar.


Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant tax, compliance, or finance experience.
  • Education: CA, ACCA, MBA, BBA or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Strong understanding of Qatar tax laws, WHT procedures, tax audits, and e-filing requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate with tax authorities, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and compliance management skills.
