Financial & Research Analyst

Role Overview

We’re seeking a Financial & Research Analyst to take charge of FNEL’s analytical and reporting operations. This person will be responsible for generating daily and weekly stock market reports, sector-wise analyses, and macroeconomic summaries — and play a crucial role in supporting investment decisions through data-driven insights.

This is a hands-on role requiring a mix of financial acumen, technical expertise (Excel, Python, SQL), and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock market reports, highlighting trends, price movements, and trading volumes.
• Conduct sectoral analyses (e.g., banking, cement, energy) and compile weekly sector performance reports.
• Develop budget and economic review reports, tracking fiscal and policy changes impacting the PSX.
• Manage and automate data using advanced Excel (macros, VBA) and Python (pandas, matplotlib, etc.).
• Write SQL queries to manage, extract, and clean financial datasets.
• Assist management in decision-making, portfolio tracking, and ad-hoc analytical requirements.
• Support internal operations by handling data-related queries and ensuring reporting accuracy across teams.
• Communicate findings clearly in written reports and verbal briefings.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in financial research, equity analysis, or investment analytics.
• Expert-level Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and macros (VBA automation).
• Strong proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, etc.) for data analysis and visualization.
• Solid understanding of SQL for database management and financial data extraction.
• Excellent command of English communication — written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple analytical tasks under tight timelines.

Preferred Attributes

• Familiarity with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and local financial instruments.
• Experience creating presentation-ready reports and dashboards for management or clients.
• A team player with a problem-solving mindset and strong analytical reasoning.
