The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s financial software and reporting tools. In Doha, this role focuses on ensuring that financial data flows seamlessly and securely across the organization, complying with both international accounting standards (IFRS) and local Qatari regulatory requirements. You will lead system upgrades, automate manual accounting processes, and ensure that the "digital core" of the finance team is robust and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- System Administration & Optimization: Act as the functional lead for the ERP (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics), managing chart of accounts (COA) structures, fiscal year-end closings, and system permissions.
- Process Automation: Identify manual bottlenecks in the finance workflow (e.g., accounts payable, intercompany reconciliations) and implement automated solutions.
- Financial Reporting & BI: Design and build complex financial reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Hyperion (HFM) to provide real-time insights to the CFO.
- Data Integrity & Governance: Perform regular system audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with internal controls (SOX-like standards) and the Qatar National Cyber Security guidelines.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Translate complex financial requirements into technical specifications for IT developers and vice versa.
- User Training & Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for finance users, providing "train-the-trainer" sessions and troubleshooting system errors.
- System Implementation/Upgrades: Lead or support the migration from legacy systems to cloud-based financial platforms, managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 5–8 years in a financial systems or business systems role. Experience with large-scale ERP implementations in the Middle East is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems. A dual background (e.g., a Finance degree with a CS minor) is the "gold standard."
- Technical Certifications:
- ERP-specific: SAP Certified Application Associate or Oracle Financials Cloud Certification.
- Professional: ACCA, CPA, or CMA is a significant plus as it ensures the analyst understands the why behind the accounting logic.
Hard Skills:
- Mastery of SQL for data extraction and Advanced Excel (Power Pivot/VBA).
- Proficiency in EPM tools (OneStream, Anaplan, or Workday Adaptive Planning).
- Understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Language: Professional English fluency is mandatory. Arabic is an advantage for reviewing local legal requirements and government-mandated reporting formats.
