Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing attentive and personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Present menus, answer questions about dishes, ingredients, and wine pairings with confidence and enthusiasm
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using advanced POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery
- Upsell menu items and beverages to enhance guest experience while increasing sales opportunities through effective suggestive selling techniques like OpenTable reservations and upselling strategies
- Serve food and drinks with precision, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to food safety standards
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing and resetting for incoming guests while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with food handling regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless communication regarding guest orders and special requests
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cashiering duties and basic math calculations for billing purposes
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of fine dining etiquette, food preparation standards, and sanitation protocols to uphold exceptional guest relations
Experience
- Previous experience in fine dining restaurants or upscale food service environments is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous; experience with OpenTable reservations is a plus
- Strong background in customer service, guest relations, and hospitality that demonstrates professionalism and attentiveness
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques within the food industry
- Experience in serving or host/hostess roles at nightclubs or similar venues enhances guest interaction skills
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail during food service operations
- Basic math skills for cashiering tasks including cash handling, bill splitting, and processing payments confidently
