The City of Brooklyn Park Fire Department is seeking a Fire Captain to lead and support emergency response operations. Under the Battalion Chief, this position supervises firefighting, EMS, prevention, and public education while coordinating personnel, training, schedules, stations, and equipment. The department operates four stations with 24/7 staffing and responds to approximately 9,000 annual calls. Captains lead incident response, oversee training and discipline, manage inspections and documentation, and may serve as Incident Commander.Minimum Qualifications: 3 years full-time firefighting experienceEMT or Paramedic certificationFire Officer I and Instructor I certificationsValid driver’s licensePreferred Qualifications: 5+ years leadership experienceAdvanced fire service certificationsAssociate degree in related fieldThis is a full-time, union, benefited position with shift scheduling.
