- Install fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, fire pumps, and other fire suppression systems according to blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
- Perform wiring and connection of fire alarm control panels, detectors, and other system components.
- Conduct regular inspections of fire protection systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet code requirements.
- Perform functional tests on alarms, sprinklers, and other equipment, documenting results and recommending corrective actions if needed.
- Test and calibrate fire detection systems and equipment according to manufacturers' specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on fire systems, such as replacing batteries, checking water pressure in sprinkler systems, and inspecting electrical connections.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with fire protection systems and repair or replace faulty components.
- Ensure that all repairs and maintenance are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure that all work complies with relevant fire codes, standards, and regulations, such as NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards.
- Provide recommendations for upgrades or replacements of systems to ensure compliance with evolving fire safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain inspection findings, maintenance needs, and system operations.
- Strong understanding of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and suppression systems.
- Knowledge of relevant fire safety codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., NFPA).
